STAYC Yoon Impresses in Acting Debut as Passionate ‘Gen Z Newcomer’ in Office Survivors

STAYC’s Yoon has made a striking impression through Office Survivors.

In the first episode of Coupang Play’s original series Office Survivors (directed by Kim Min and Kang Na-rae), released on the 22nd, Yoon took on the role of Shim Ja-yoon, captivating audiences with her lively and dynamic presence.

Set in the struggling mid-sized advertising agency DY Planning, Office Survivors portrays the workplace survival story of MZ generation employees caught between AZ and Gen Z cultures. Yoon injects fresh energy into the series as the enthusiastic rookie intern, Shim Ja-yoon.

In this episode, Yoon flawlessly embodied her Gen Z character—bright, eager, and full of passion, albeit sometimes a little too much. Her well-meaning but oblivious enthusiasm led to humorous moments, and her natural delivery, blending scripted lines with seemingly spontaneous ad-libs, added to the fun and immersion.

One standout scene featured her cheerfully arriving late to work, unaware of the situation, and later, despite her efforts to be prepared, forgetting to bring guest star Hyeri’s drink while getting everyone else’s. She also helped Ji Ye-eun with her presentation in an awkward yet endearing manner, drawing attention with her exaggerated reactions and enthusiastic support.

Despite this being her first-ever acting role, Yoon blended seamlessly with the rest of the cast, delivering a comedic and charismatic performance. As a true representative of Gen Z in Office Survivors, anticipation is high for how her character Shim Ja-yoon will continue to evolve.

Meanwhile, STAYC is currently gearing up for their comeback in March, fully immersed in preparations for their new album.
