Within five months of their debut, STAYC became the representative of the 4th-generation K-pop girl group, achieved sales records for more than 35,000 copies in the first week of their release.
According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart on the 15th, STAYC (Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, J), released on the 8th, recorded 35,518 copies of first weekly sales (April 8 to April 14).
STAYC sold 12,940 copies on the first day of ‘STAYDOM release. It surpassed the first weekly sales record of 10,295 copies of their debut single ‘SOBAD’ in just one day. ‘STAYDOM’ sold 35,518 copies in first week of release. As a representative of the 4th-generation K-pop girl group, they proved their remarkable growth.
In particular, according to Hanteo Chart, STAYC’s sales record in the first week of its release is ranked fourth among K-pop female group albums released in 2021, after (G)I-DLE, Dreamcatcher and WJSN. This is an unusual result for a new idol group that has only debuted for five months.
‘STAYDOM’ is the second single released by STAYC in about five months since their debut single ‘Star To A Young Culture’ drawing much attention from K-pop fans in Korea and abroad upon their release. Since its release, the title track ‘ASAP’ has broken their own record on the real-time music charts, reaching number 5 on Bugs music and number 17 on Genie, and number 1 on the i-tunes TOP K-POP album chart and number 6 on the Worldwide album chart. The records can proved hot global response.
Not only just the music, also the ‘ASAP’ music video received favorable reviews from viewers around the world and achieved 10 million views in just three days. As of 1 p.m. on the 15th, the number of viewers is close to 17 million, and it is about to surpass 20 million. STAYC, the representative of the fourth-generation K-pop girl group, will step up ‘ASAP’ activities through appearances on music shows and various contents.
