STAYC Dazzles on ‘Inkigayo’ with Their Captivating Beauty and Heart Performance

2024 11 04

STAYC (members Sumin, Sieun, ISA, Seeun, Yoon, and J) transformed into bold, unrequited love confessors as they performed the title track “GPT” from their new single “…l (Dot Dot Dot)” on SBS’s “Inkigayo” on the 3rd.

Ahead of their first comeback stage in three months, STAYC participated in an interview with the MCs, where they explained the meaning behind “GPT” and demonstrated its signature “heart dance” with the hosts. When asked to suggest a dinner menu, STAYC cleverly recommended chicken, hot dogs, and ice cream using the lyrics from their own songs, “ASAP,” “RUN2U,” and “Cheeky Icy Thang.”

Appearing on stage with an endearing visual style brimming with charm, STAYC captured the audience’s attention. Each member showcased her unique vocal color, conveying the sincere emotions of a bold crush, adding a distinct autumn vibe to their performance that’s all their own.

STAYC further entertained viewers with a variety of heart-themed performances. Starting with their “wave heart” move—creating a large heart shape above their heads and shifting it side to side—they added elements like hand hearts using their thumbs and pinkies, filling the stage with different heart gestures. The group also captivated fans with a gesture that mimicked typing on a phone screen, which added to the song’s addictive charm.

STAYC’s new single “…l,” released three months after their last, is named after the ellipsis often seen on a messaging screen when waiting for a reply that never comes. Through this album, they express the feelings of one-sided love in STAYC’s signature kitschy style. With this relatable story that resonates with Gen Z, STAYC brings a new emotional flavor to this autumn season.

The title track “GPT” blends a funky rhythm and chill synth sounds with a French house vibe. The song likens a disinterested crush who only provides dry answers to the AI, GPT, encapsulating the yearning of unrequited love in STAYC’s own witty style.

STAYC will continue connecting with fans through various music shows and content in the coming weeks.
