STAYC, 2020 debut girl group single album sales record best

Girl group STAYC recorded the best single album sales among girl groups that debuted last year.
According to the rookie category of “2020 Annual Album Sales Settlement” released by Hanteo Chart, in Korea largest music album sales aggregation website, on the 25th, STAYC got top the 2020 single album sales chart (January 1st to December 31, 2020).
The first single of STAYC’s “Star To A Young Culture,” released in November last year, recorded cumulative sales of 21,909 single albums. This is the highest number of new female artists this year.
“Even though STAYC debuted at the end of the year, we recorded more than 20,000 album sales in a short period of time,” the agency Hi-Up Entertainment said.
In addition, STAYC has sold a total of 12,295 albums in sales rate for the first week of the album’s release, becoming the only female artist to make more than 10,000 copies last year.
The six-member STAYC, consisting of Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J, is the first self-produced girl group by producer Black Eyed Pilseung (Choi Kyu-sung, Rado). It is drawing attention as it ranked 21st on the U.S. Billboard’s “World Digital Song Sales Chart.”
